colophon

so this site used to be entirely hand-coded in raw HTML and CSS (plus some random javascript i didn't write). you can see the original source for that in a git repository.

this site is now built with astro, a wonderfully efficient and open static site generator. it's an absolute joy to work with, even if you don't know javascript and actively hate it like me. seriously, they not only break it down well, but make it fun! that's hard to do!

here's the rest of the stuff that makes this site happen. sort of a credits page, i guess. but the indie web people like the word colophon so i thought i'd give it a try.

a dell opti-plex 780, repurposed as a server in my house. it's fucking terrible and old and is really starting to cause problems because of its age. i'll be upgrading it uhh... soon.

caddy serves this site, and also every other site that i self host. it's kickass.

as mentioned above, this site is powered by astro. the styling and words are all me.

the source code for this site can be found on my forgejo instance.

the site is automatically built and deployed to my server after a new commit is pushed to the git repository. the builds are powered by source hut builds, and to bridge between source hut and my forgejo instance, i use the public instance for yojo, written by simon ser.
